355 Stroker Build
Decided last year that a 202 was never going to be enough for a HQ. Sold the turbo kit for the six in favour of a 308.
Blue 308 block out of WB Statesman
-Clearanced for stroker crank
-New cam bearings installed
-Bored 0.030" and honed
-Smoothed casting flash and oil returns
-Decked for zero deck height
-Acid washed and cleaned
-New welsh plugs installed
Bottom End
-ARP main studs
-High Energy Baffled sump
-Come Racing 355 stroker kit
-Probe forged flat top pistons
-10.5:1 comp
-Chev I beam rods
-355ci Chev journal nodular cast crank
-King bearings
-Balanced
Top End
-VN heads
-stock exhaust ports smoothed
-intakes smoothed and cleaned up with a fairly mild port
-One piece stainless valves (stock sizes)
- 3 angle valve cut
-Heads machined for double valve springs and screw in 7/16 rocker studs.
-Double valve springs to support up to .680" lift and guide plates
-New valve stem seals, caps, collets
-Precision Motorsport Roller Rockers 1.6 ratio
-Crow chromoly pushrods
-Crow anti-pump up lifters
-Crow 4619 226/232 @ 0.050" with 0.505"/0.0523" lift and 110 LSA
-Cast rocker covers
Induction/Exhaust
-Holley 4150 750CFM DP Mech secondaries
-Come Racing medium rise single plane manifold
-Castle Headers, Tri Y's with 1 3/4" inch primaries, 2 1/2" collector.
- Plan to run twin 2 1/2" exhaust into crossover pipe then step up to twin 3" and Hooker Aerochamber centre in centre out mufflers.
Might have left a few things out but thats all I can think of right now. lan to use it as a street/strip motor. Went with a hydraulic cam for now, but may upgrade to an angrier solid in the future...
